It operates within a sweepstakes framework with two user roles: Players who make predictions, and Backers who provide liquidity by covering those predictions through randomized allocations.

Empire is not a traditional sportsbook. It's a sweepstakes platform similar to Fliff or Thrillz. Instead of betting against the house, Players make predictions backed by a community of Backers. All prediction lines are sourced from independent, third-party market-data providers — Empire does not create, adjust, or profit from these lines. No purchase is necessary to participate.

Empire supports 13 leagues across 5 sports: NBA, NCAAB, NFL, NCAAF, MLB, NHL, English Premier League, Champions League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1, and the FIFA World Cup.

Empire operates as a sweepstakes platform using a dual-currency model (Gold Coins and Sweeps Cash). No purchase is necessary to participate — Sweeps Cash can be obtained for free via an alternate method of entry (AMOE). This model is designed to comply with sweepstakes regulations. Empire offers moneyline (head-to-head), point spreads, totals (over/under), alternate spreads, alternate totals, both teams to score (BTTS), draw no bet, and team totals — covering all major market types.

All sports-prediction lines on Empire are sourced from independent, third-party market-data providers reflecting consensus market pricing (equivalent to –110/–110). Empire does not create, adjust, or profit from these lines.

When a prediction is correct: Gold Coin plays award additional Gold Coins (non-redeemable), and Sweeps Cash plays award additional Sweeps Cash (redeemable for prizes). Winnings are funded from the Backer pool that covered your prediction, with Empire stepping in as the safety net if needed.

A Backer is a user who provides liquidity by covering Players' predictions. Backers choose which sports categories to support, and the platform's algorithm automatically and randomly allocates Player predictions across eligible Backers. No Backer selects individual predictions — each participates in a randomized pool of diverse predictions within their chosen sports.

Backers earn when Players' predictions are incorrect. Each Backer's maximum exposure per prediction is capped at 1% of their total balance. Empire generates revenue from a fixed fee on Backer profits. Backers can use either Gold Coins or Sweeps Cash.

To qualify as a Backer, you must first meet the minimum cumulative gameplay threshold as a Player. Once eligible, you may deposit in accordance with the fixed ratio. Backers may pause their participation at any time — existing exposures continue to settle normally, and unallocated funds remain available.

Gold Coins are Empire's non-redeemable entertainment currency. You receive Gold Coins automatically upon account creation, through daily rewards, gameplay achievements, and optional purchases. Gold Coins exist solely for amusement and cannot be redeemed, transferred, or converted into Sweeps Cash or any monetary value.

Sweeps Cash represents sweepstakes entries that may lead to real prizes. You can obtain Sweeps Cash in two ways: for free via the alternate method of entry (AMOE), or as promotional bonuses granted alongside purchases of Gold Coins. Sweeps Cash cannot be purchased directly. Accumulated Sweeps Cash may be redeemed for cash equivalents (ACH, gift cards, etc.).

The AMOE lets you request free Sweeps Cash by submitting a handwritten mail-in entry to Empire's designated P.O. Box. Each entry must include your full name, mailing address, date of birth, email address, and Empire username. Upon receipt of a valid submission, Empire credits your account with Sweeps Cash. Limit of one AMOE request per person per day.

Yes. Accumulated Sweeps Cash may be redeemed for cash equivalents such as ACH transfers or digital gift cards. You must complete a one-time identity verification prior to your first redemption. Minimum redemption thresholds (e.g., $10) may apply. Redemptions are processed within 3–5 business days.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the legal age in your jurisdiction) and located in an eligible region. Users verify age and location before participating in any activity.
